The wind’s chill forced me to add an extra layer to fend off the freezing air. Although the extra layer caused me to sweat, it was a small price to pay compared to the discomfort of being exposed to frigid gusts. On Alvarado Drive, I saw a yard filled with Red Hesperaloe seed pods delicately blanketed with dusting from the storm. My postcard for 02/08/23 is one of those seed pods crowned with a fresh coat of soon-to-be-gone snow.
