While walking the acequia paths through Albuquerque’s North Valley, we came across several small shrines tucked into the hollows of old trees. I chose this one for my 07/01/26 postcard. An angel stood watch over an eclectic collection of toys, figurines, stones, and handwritten words, each object hinting at a story known only to the people who placed them there. It felt like a place where someone had quietly left a piece of themselves behind.
