We stopped at Alvarado Park for a drink of water when three roadrunners appeared, weaving through the grass and along the sidewalk. One paused just a few feet from us, allowing me to capture this quiet portrait of one of New Mexico’s most recognizable birds for my 06/29/26 postcard.
