My 07/16/26 postcard is a Western Tiger Swallowtail  I found feeding on Red Hesperaloe buds in the UNM landscaping near Central Avenue. It paused just long enough for me to shoot a couple of pictures, showing off the bold yellow and black pattern that makes this butterfly one of New Mexico’s most striking visitors.
