My 10/17/26 postcard shows a roadrunner I found standing on a driveway, one foot lifted, its body leaning forward and its crest raised. For a moment, it looked less like a bird and more like a bird dog holding a point, completely focused on something just beyond the frame. Its long shadow carried that pose across the pavement.
