The news broadcast mentioned that the melting snowpack had filled Cochiti Lake, and curiosity led us on a drive to witness the occurrence first-hand. My postcard for 05/20/23 is an image of picnic tables engulfed by water, located near the boat ramp at the lake. Another striking feature of the scene was the flood debris scattered along the shoreline—a jumble of floating debris, mainly wood and plastic bottles.
