Several years back, journeying on my motorcycle, I went to a Chuckwagon cooking competition in Logan, NM. The contestants invested heavily in recreating authentic, Western-style chuckwagons; they prepared meals for the contest from these wagons. The following year I took my wife, and she enjoyed it so much that we made it an annual event. The image for my 04/29/23 postcard captures a “Cookie” meticulously preparing my lunch with his campfire cookware.
