My postcard for 01/18/23 is a Red Hesperaloe seed pod I found along Trumbull Avenue. Here is a poetic description of the picture.

Nestled among spiky leaves, its beauty unmarred.
A beacon of life, in shades of red,
Holding within, the promise of new life to be shed.
A tough exterior, protecting the treasure inside,
A precious bounty, yet to be spied.
But when the time is right, and the pod splits in two,
The seeds within will be set free, to grow and renew.
