As we walked along the VA Health Care facility parade ground, a prairie dog approached, seeking water from the gutter. We spotted each other simultaneously. It quickly assumed a vigilant posture, observing me with interest. At the same time, I captured the encounter in a photograph used for my 06/28/23 postcard.
