Here in New Mexico, we eat a lot of chile. I like mine green, while others prefer red. We keep green chile stocked as a staple in our house and will attempt to add it to any dish. The smell of green chile roasting is the smell of home and lets you know summer is ending.
One of my neighbors has his yard filled with lots of vegetables and happily offers his produce to anyone passing by. My picture for 08/06 is a small white blossom soon to become a chile in his garden.
