When younger, I’d watch the cartoon coyote chase the roadrunner, always failing to catch his meal. I thought of the roadrunner as pray, but now that I’ve spent some time observing them in the wilds of our neighborhood, I know them to be fierce hunters. My picture for 05/29 is a roadrunner dispatching a bird; it just caught against a driveway.
