For the last few years, we have hiked the volcanoes west of the city on Christmas Day. My 12/25/25 postcard is from the top of Vulcan, with the city stretched thin below, and the Sandias holding the horizon. It’s a moment of rest after the climb, but it’s also about the destination, and the act of stopping to take it all in.
